How the days unfold

  1. Day 1

    Jammu – Pahalgam · Pickup in Jammu and the long drive up through the new tunnels and the Banihal–Qazigund tunnel into the valley (7–10 hours with stops). Overnight in Pahalgam.

  2. Day 2

    Pahalgam sightseeing · Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari by union cab (included), Mamleshwar temple, the golf course, or a pony ride to Baisaran. Evening in Pahalgam market.

  3. Day 3

    Pahalgam – Srinagar · Drive to Srinagar for Nishat Bagh, Chashme Shahi, Pari Mahal, Shankaracharya hill and Hazratbal. Tonight on a houseboat on Dal Lake.

  4. Day 4

    Gulmarg day trip · Tangmarg tea stop, then the Gondola, pony rides or ATV. Back to Srinagar for the night. Book Gondola tickets in advance.

  5. Day 5

    Doodhpathri day trip · Open meadows and cold streams in the "valley of milk". Back to Srinagar for the night.

  6. Day 6

    Srinagar – Sonamarg · Along the Sindh river to Sonamarg. Ponies to Thajiwas Glacier, Zero Point by union taxi. Overnight in Sonamarg.

  7. Day 7

    Sonamarg – Gurez · Via Bandipora and over Razdan Pass into Gurez — the Kishanganga river, Habba Khatoon peak and the wooden villages around Dawar. Overnight in Gurez.

  8. Day 8

    Gurez – Srinagar · Back over Razdan Pass to Srinagar. Overnight in Srinagar.

  9. Day 9

    Srinagar sightseeing · The Tulip Garden when in season (late March to April), otherwise Char Chinari, the floating market and the Dal Lake markets. Shikara ride on Dal Lake.

  10. Day 10

    Srinagar – Jammu · Breakfast and the drive back down to Jammu for your onward train or flight.

Starts and ends in Jammu, so it works well if you are coming by train. The highlight is Gurez — a remote valley on the Kishanganga that very few tour packages include.

Good to know

  • Gurez is usually reachable from May to early November; Razdan Pass closes with snow.
  • Carry original photo ID — there are army checkpoints on the Gurez road.
  • Only postpaid SIMs work in Jammu & Kashmir, and coverage in Gurez is patchy.

Winter season inclusions note (2026–27)

This package is priced for the snow season on a MAP basis (daily breakfast & dinner) with 3-star (or equivalent) stays unless you upgrade in writing. In Gulmarg, we plan around the cable car (Gondola), snow play, and — on request — snowmobile, sledging, or beginner ski hire (activity fees usually payable on ground unless your written quote adds them).

Union cabs / local union taxis are NOT included at Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, or other sightseeing zones. Your package covers the KTC private tour vehicle for airport transfers and inter-town drives as per itinerary. Local union segments, snow-chain cabs (Tangmarg–Gulmarg in heavy snow), ponies, and adventure tickets are extras unless confirmed in writing.
